The Greenburgh Public Library is pleased to offer our patrons premium subscriptions to your favorite streaming platforms.


Q: What applications are on the FireTV Stick?

A: Netflix, Disney+, and AcornTV. Additional applications include: Youtube, Kanopy, Hoopla, Movies Anywhere, Vudu, Crackle, Freevee (previously known as IMDbTV, and Pluto TV.


Q. What applications are on the Roku Streaming Stick?

A: Apple TV+ and Peacock Premium. Additional applications include: Youtube, Movies Anywhere, Vudu, Kanopy, Hoopla, Pluto TV, the Roku Channel, Crackle, the CW, Freevee (previously known as IMDbTV), Crunchyroll, NewsON, PBS and PBS Kids.


Q: How do I reserve a streaming device?

A: Patrons must call the Information Desk at (914) 721-8225 to place a hold. You must be a Greenburgh Public Library card holder and 18 years of age or older who are in good standing with the Library.

A patron borrowing a streaming device is required to present a current Greenburgh Public Library card and photo ID for verification.

Streaming Devices must be picked up and returned at the Circulation Desk on the first floor.


Q: Can any WLS card holder reserve a streaming device?

A: Streaming devices are only available to Greenburgh Public Library card holders. Your library card must begin with "21009." Please contact the library to place a hold.


Q: How long can I reserve a streaming device for?

A: Loan periods for streaming devices are two weeks with no renewals.


Q: Where can I pick up a streaming device? Where do I return it?

A: Streaming devices can be picked up and returned at the first floor Circulation Desk. Streaming devices cannot be returned in the book drop or to another WLS Library. Streaming devices must be returned to the Greenburgh Public Library.


Q: What comes with the streaming devices?

A: Streaming devices and accessories will be inspected by a staff member to make sure it is intact and functioning properly. Components include:

  • Streaming device
  • USB Power Cable and power adapter
  • HDMI Extended Cable
  • Voice Remote

Q: What happens if I lose or damage the streaming device?

A: The borrower assumes all liability for the cost of repair or replacement in the event of loss, theft, damage, negligence, or misuse. The borrower assumes full financial responsibility ($60) for a lost, missing, stolen, or damaged FireTV Stick or Roku Streaming Stick and accessories. A repair fee will be levied for damaged equipment and accessories based on the cost of repairs. Replacement for the FireTV Stick or Roku, carrying case, and/or other accessories will be charged at current market cost.


Q: Are there late fees if I return the streaming device late?

A: An overdue fine of $10.00 per day, with a maximum fine of $25.00 will be levied for overdue FireTV Sticks.


Q: Why does my streaming video keep freezing or buffering?

A: Please verify that you have a fast and stable Internet connection. Please call the library for troubleshooting.


Q: I am having trouble with my streaming device and I need help!

A: Please call the Information Desk at (914) 721-8225. The borrower will be held financially responsible for any damage to a device if they try to troubleshoot problems without library staff member guidance.


PLEASE NOTE: All applications are preloaded onto the streaming device before being checked out. Staff are unable to provide login credentials to patrons. If an application is logged out, patrons must bring the device back to the library to be reset.
